Meet the pilot: Magment

With the build phase officially complete, the InnoMatch project is moving into its most exciting chapter yet: the testing phase. This is the moment where all the hard work leaves the lab and faces the ultimate real-world test.

To kick things off, we sat down with the team at Magment—the very first pilot we are featuring in this series. In this quick interview, they share their hopes for this next step and their vision for the future.

You will also get an inside look at their solution, MagPower-3H™. Discover exactly what this technology does, who it is built for, and how you can get in touch if you would like to connect!

What are your expectations as your solution moves into the assessment phase? And your lessons learned?
The assessment phase is a major milestone for Magment. We have already received a purchase order from one of the world’s leading OEMs to customize the MagPower-3H™ transformer platform for their specific application requirements, and we are actively working on its implementation. Together with our production partner, we expect during the assessment phase to manufacture and test at least one customized MagPower-3H™ unit and successfully validate the solution with the OEM.

One of the key lessons learned is that strong industrial partnerships and early OEM engagement are essential for accelerating adoption of next-generation transformer technologies. The pilot confirmed that innovation alone is not enough — scalability, manufacturability, and integration into existing OEM ecosystems are equally important.

Looking beyond the pilot, our expectation is to establish a long-term collaboration agreement with the OEM focused on the joint development of future solid-state transformer (SST) systems and next-generation medium-voltage infrastructure.

How has InnoMatch helped you achieve your business goals? What have you valued the most so far?
InnoMatch helped transform MagPower-3H™ from a deep-tech innovation into a real industrial production opportunity. The programme created the bridge between technology development, industrial scalable production and direct engagement with major industrial players and OEM ecosystems — something extremely difficult to achieve for an emerging hardware company alone.

What we valued most was not only the pilot framework itself, but the ability to validate our technology in discussions with rproduction partner and one of the world-leading OEMs. InnoMatch accelerated credibility, opened strategic doors, and helped position Magment not just as a startup with an idea, but as a future technology partner of the OEMs for next-generation power infrastructure.

What does success look like for you beyond this pilot and the InnoMatch programme?
Success beyond the InnoMatch pilot means transitioning from validation to R&D and scale-up collaboration with a leading OEM on the joint development of next-generation Solid-State Transformer (SST) systems.

Our goal is to establish a long-term post-pilot partnership in which the OEM fully funds the further development, industrialization, testing, and deployment of MagPower-3H™, based SST technology for future medium-voltage grids, data centers, BESS, and electrified infrastructure applications.

For Magment, real success is seeing our technology move from prototype stage into globally deployed OEM products powering the next generation of energy infrastructure.
