We continue our Meet the Pilot interview series with Reblade, an EIC awardee delivering innovative solutions within the energy, environment, and sustainability sector.
Partnering with Geo-Structural as their buyer and assessment partner, Reblade focuses on automating wind turbine blade repairs using advanced drones with modular capabilities.
Read our quick interview with the team below, where they share their aspirations for this next step and their vision for the future of the industry.
You can also get an inside look at their technology in our latest brochure, available below. Discover exactly how this solution works, who it is designed for, and how you can get in touch if you would like to connect!
What are your expectations as your solution moves into the assessment phase? And your lessons learned?
Our expectation was to be challenged by our operational partner. Good engineering becomes great products, when people are willing to point out what is actually working and what is not. With the backing of InnoMatch and EIC, our industrial partner met us as a true technology innovator, and as the experts who have built the system from scratch – drone, landing, tools, autonomy. Walking into a room where our innovation and the team’s grit is clearly respected by the partner, is something the whole team feels from the very first handshake.
How has InnoMatch helped you achieve your business goals? What have you valued the most so far?
InnoMatch gave us what startups need in our high-paced grind to market growth: a structured framework around validation through an industrial-grade partnership with the extra resources and push to being present, expecting results, and tracking joint deliverables. For a team punching well above our weight, that kind of institutional backing into delivering KPI rigour and an honest calibration of our commercial readiness, is definitely worth its “weight” in accelerated proof, traction and expansion to new markets.
What does success look like for you beyond this pilot and the InnoMatch programme?
That preventive maintenance of critical energy infrastructure becomes a rope-less, structured, repeatable operation – with Reblade’s technology providing true scalability. We would be very proud to do our bit to improve the energy and economic resilience of EU in these trying times. InnoMatch has been part of laying the commercial foundation for exactly that, and we will stay quietly stubborn about getting it just right.
