Meet the pilot: Regeneration

In the latest edition of our Meet the Pilot series, we introduce Regeneration!

Working alongside ITURRI S.A., the pilot has developed a solution within the textile sector. Their innovation offers a unique thermal disassembly process that enables the recovery of up to twice as much material and works up to 15 times faster than conventional methods.

Read the full interview below to discover their expectations for what lies ahead.

Get a look at their technology in our latest brochure, available below. Discover exactly how this solution works, who it is designed for, and how you can get in touch if you would like to connect!

What are your expectations as your solution moves into the assessment phase? And your lessons learned?
Expectations: The core expectation for the assessment phase is to definitively prove the solution’s technical and economic viability at an industrial scale through automated dismantling trials. This includes validating that the dissolvable threads maintain strict PPE safety standards (like flame retardance) while ensuring the total recycling process cost is equal to or less than using virgin materials.

Lessons Learned: Testing innovation in a high-volume manufacturing environment demands immense operational agility. Critical lessons include anticipating delays and prioritizing testing protocols. Furthermore, when physical testing is blocked by strict confidentiality, pivoting to deep data-sharing through detailed Bills of Materials is highly effective for maintaining progress toward circularity.

How has InnoMatch helped you achieve your business goals? What have you valued the most so far?
InnoMatch provided access to a relevant industrial partner (Iturri), allowing for the testing of the technology on complex protective garments. The structured support from the InnoMatch team was valued for navigating operational challenges. Ultimately, the pilot is building the evidence needed to prove scalability and convince major European brands of the solution’s value.

What does success look like for you beyond this pilot and the InnoMatch programme?
Large-Scale Rollout: Implement the technology in the brand at large scale

European Expansion: Replicate this success with other workwear brands across Europe

Industry Impact: Establish a proven circular model that shapes future eco-design regulations and public procurement practices.
